Pomorie is a unique place for recreation and tourism, jutting into the heart of the Black Sea. It’s the town with the most sunny days a year and the longest beach on the Bulgarian seaside. The salty path of happiness passes by clean salty sea water, unique healing salty lake, delicious fish food… but not only.

It’s no accident it’s considered the health-tourism capital and an innovative spa destination. The modern hotels and the millennia-old Salt Lake, providing healing mud and lye, contribute to that. The city reveals unique sights and curious places. Here is the only Antique dome tomb on the Balkan Peninsula; the salt Museum and a functioning monastery; the unique “Yavorov” summer cinema, located under the stars on a rock on the beach; the “Old Pomorie Houses” reserve with the oldest temple on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

With its rich cultural programme Pomorie has established itself as the seaside festival capital. The summer months are a string of attractive festivals of different fields of art. “Pomorie – antique, romantic, eternal” - maritime climate, landscapes, ancient history and culture blend here. They interweave to create a quality and multicomponent tourist product, competitive not only in our country, but on the whole Balkan peninsula and beyond. Pomorie is not just a destination, but the right choice for a perfect holiday.

Pomorie - a healing destination for body and soul

The treasury of the town has for centuries kept countless treasures, but one of the most valuable is the healing Pomorie mud, known for its properties all over the world.  It is thanks to the mud cure that Pomorie was declared a resort as early as 1930.
Outside of official documents and facts, however, history tells us that the town has been a preferred place for healing and relaxation since Roman times.

The ancient Thracians called the Pomorie salt lake "sacred". They knew that from the bottom of the lake waters to their surface contained healing mysterious ingredients. To this day, the lake is often described as "sacred" by the people whose ailments it alleviated, but the truth lies in the mud and lye extracted from it.
